For those of you who were anxiously awaiting Serenity's arrival home, I just wanted you to know she arrived home safely on Saturday, April 9th at 5:20 pm. As Serenity was eased into her slip, stern in, she was greeted with bright sunshine, mild temperatures and Tom and I ecstatic on the dock.
As we've come to expect from the KKY team, she was gleaming despite a harrowing few days in the open ocean. More about that in the following blog. Her ensign and KKY burgee were in their place of honor, proudly waving in the New York breeze. Her crew of three were busy going about their docking tasks, though they did stop briefly to return our frantic waves.
We waited (impatiently) on the dock for the lines to be secured, engine turned off and for the long-awaited words "Here is your beautiful new boat. Please come aboard your boat".
We thought we had surely died and gone to heaven!
